Aligned for Impact: Building a Values-Driven Culture Across
Classrooms, Sports, and Activities
Students move between classrooms, sports teams, and co-curricular activities every day. Each environment carries its own expectations, and even within strong schools, those expectations can drift just enough to create inconsistency in what students experience and what they believe truly matters.
This workshop is designed as a collaborative working session for educators, coaches, and school leaders to strengthen alignment across those environments. It builds on the experience and expertise already present within the school, with a focus on bringing greater clarity, consistency, and intentionality to how students are guided, challenged, and supported.
Drawing from Alex Compton’s background in team culture, leadership, and youth development, the session focuses on practical ways to align values across academics, athletics, and activities so that students encounter a more unified message throughout their day.
Participants will engage in a rhythm of short framing, group discussion, and individual reflection to examine current practices, identify areas of misalignment, and develop shared approaches that can be applied in real settings.
Together, participants will:
• Clarify the core values they want students to experience consistently across the school
• Identify gaps between stated values and daily practice
• Align expectations across classrooms, teams, and co-curricular environments
• Strengthen communication so students receive consistent guidance from all adults
• Explore practical ways to reinforce character through everyday interactions and routines
• Create intentional opportunities for leadership development
• Develop simple, actionable steps that can be implemented within their own context
By the end of the workshop, participants will leave with greater clarity around their shared values and a realistic plan for strengthening alignment across their school community. The focus remains on supporting the whole student through consistent, values-driven care that extends beyond any single classroom, team, or activity.
