Jeff Utecht is an educational technology consultant, educator, and podcast host. In 2001, Jeff received a prestigious Bill and Melinda Gates Grant, the Technology Leadership Project, in just his second year as a teacher, thus starting his journey in technology and learning.
Jeff's passion for sharing his knowledge and experience led him to launch his blog, The Thinking Stick in 2005, while teaching at Shanghai American School. He was a founding member of the Learning2 Conference (learning2.org), an innovative gathering that focused on the future of learning. While teaching in Asia, Jeff served as a featured speaker for five years at both the teacher and administrative conferences for EARCOS.
Jeff has continued to share his expertise through various media channels, including writing articles and blog posts for Tech & Learning publications, contributing chapters to several books, and serving as an educational consultant for companies. He has spoken at schools and educational events worldwide, including twice at conferences sponsored by the United Nations Development Programme. In 2010, while working at the International School Bangkok, Jeff was invited to present at the first Bangkok TEDx conference.
Today, Jeff's popular Shifting Schools podcast has over 12,000 monthly listeners, and the 70 free Shifting School guides have been downloaded more than 5,000 times. His passion for learning and dedication to future generations continues to inspire and drive him. He also served as an educational consultant and spoken at schools and educational events worldwide. He founded ShiftingSchools.com which includes a top 10 educational podcast, over 70 free guides for educators and training on a variety of topics.
