AVID

The students will learn how to use the tools offered in the high school to help them succeed in the classroom. They will learn how to study using the following skills: time management, organization, goal setting, making schedules, stress management, critical thinking, memorization, and vocabulary building exercises. They will learn how to participate actively in the classroom using the following skills: preparing for class, taking notes in lectures, and paying attention to assigned tasks. They will learn how to prepare for tests using test taking strategies, general test preparation, anticipating test content, review tools for tests, and overcoming test anxiety.
