My name is Amy Hutchison and I am the music teacher at View Ridge Elementary Arts Academy. I began studying music at the age of 4 when my parents enrolled me in a musical kindergarten class. I loved everything about it and began piano lessons the next year. Later I added voice lesson and enjoyed participating in performances in school, at church, in musical theatre and community choirs. I continued my education at Pacific Lutheran University earning a BA in K-12 vocal music and K-8 general music. After graduation I attended Seattle Pacific University where I earned my Orff Schulwerk levels 1-3. A few years later I added my teaching endorsement for K-8 general education.

I began teaching music in 1990 at Harvard Elementary in Tacoma. I moved to Bremerton in 1993 where I taught music at View Ridge Elementary for 14 years. I then moved to Crownhill Elementary where I taught Kindergarten for 10 years and music for 5 years before coming "home" to View Ridge in 2022.
