Welcome!

My name is Sarah Stevens and I am the speech language therapist serving students with speech and language needs at both Mountain View Middle School. This is my 16th year in the Bremerton School District as a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) and I love working with kids on their communication! I love books, coffee, cats, and communication. :)

I look forward to working with your student! I try to pull students for speech times that are scheduled to minimize the disruption in their learning. These times may change based on teacher and student requests as well as programming needs. Students will have passes to walk to and from the speech room.

You may get some paper activities sent home with your student to do at home. There may be activities posted in the Speech and Language Google Classroom. There may be a combination. I want to keep what worked well with the digital options we have and add them to what we used to do with books and papers and fun things in person.

In the event that we shift to an online format *or* if a student will be out for a long period of time due to illness or quarantine, we will shift speech sessions to a Google Meets format. If your student is required to quarantine, they can participate in their usual speech time through that platform. If the entire school shifts, it will take some time for me to create a new, virtual schedule around their classes, but we will continue through Google Meets.

Your student should have been invited to join my Google Classroom and it will appear when they click on the Google Classroom Icon.
