This course is designed to prepare students for life-long decision-making, problem solving, critical thinking, and management skills related to wellness issues impacting individuals and families. The primary role is on enabling students to assume an active role in developing healthy lifestyles for themselves and others. Students will understand and apply the concepts between the interrelationships of healthy choices and a productive, satisfying life.

Objectives/Goals:

  • Promote personal growth and leadership

  • Focus on the wellness issues throughout the lifespan

  • Develop skills for life in the following areas:

      • Emotional wellness

      • Social wellness

      • Physical wellness

      • Interpersonal communication

      • Practical knowledge for lifespan health decision making

  • Earn CPR certification through hands-on learning and passing the state assessment
