In the Bremerton School District our core mathematics program is Eureka Math in grades PreK-8. We also use a program called Zearn to provide students in grades K-5 with online math skills practice. Eureka is the program that your child's teacher uses in class to provide rich hands-on math learning experiences and standards-based skill acquisition. Zearn is an online partner program that gives students the opportunity to practice the same math skills as they are learning in class.

When Zearn is used in our classrooms it is typically done for approximately 10 minutes during math center rotation after students have participated in the traditional whole class hands on math lesson taught by their teacher. Each student works through Digital Activities that build number sense with the goal of completing four Digital Activities each week.

When Zearn is used in our classrooms it is typically done for approximately 15-30 minutes during math center rotation after students have participated in the traditional whole class hands on math lesson taught by their teacher. Students typically complete four Independent Digital Lessons per week. Students work through fluency, concept development, and independent practice at their own pace with precise and supportive digital feedback.

When prompted in each Independent Digital Lesson, students complete and correct their Printed Student Notes. This can be done on notebook paper at home.
