The CDC has reviewed data that shows the transmission rate for COVID-19 after day 10 is "about 1% with an upper limit of about 10%." Because of this they have provided options to reduce the length of quarantine from 14 days to 5 or 10 days in certain situations. These options allow schools to remain open safely so students can fully access their education. In partnership with KPHD, the Bremerton School District quarantine follows the 10- day quarantine guidance. The 10-day quarantine may be reduced under the following conditions. If you would like more information on quarantine times, please link to the CDC reduced quarantine times and transmission risk web page.
A 10-day quarantine is standard for any student/staff who has tested positive for COVID-19.
The day of exposure is day 0
You may return on day 11
Continue to monitor for symptoms for 14 days
A 5-day quarantine is available for people who have COVID-19 and obtain a negative test result on or after day 5 OR who wear a mask from day 6-10 without testing.
