I was born and raised in Bremerton. I attended Bremerton schools and graduated from Olympic College with my Associate Degree. I have worked in the Bremerton School District for over twenty years, first at View Ridge Elementary Arts Academy as a paraeducator and technology facilitator. I went back to school while working and became a teacher. I graduated from Northwest University, receiving my Bachelor of Arts with WA State Residency Teaching Certificate, and dual endorsements in Special Education and Elementary Education (K-8). Seven years ago, I joined West Hills STEM Academy as a 1st Grade teacher.
I have raised six children who all attended Bremerton schools. I love spending time with family and friends. I enjoy being outdoors hiking, swimming and kayaking. I am a lifelong learner and like learning new things. I am fascinated by research in math and science. I love seeing students be curious and find their passion for learning. I look forward to working with you and your student this year; collaboratively providing engaging, and meaningful educational learning opportunities, explorations, and adventures.
