COLLABORATIVE STANDARDS & ORGANIZATIONAL HEALTH
This fall, we will be reflecting on the state of our collaborative through the Collaborative Standards Assessment and the Organizational Health Self-Assessment. This process is designed to transform Breakthrough into a true collaborative, combining the best aspects of local autonomy with the power of acting in unison. Collecting and analyzing this critical data nationally will allow us to identify correlations between best practices and strong outcomes, support affiliates in delivering the strongest possible programming for our students, families, teachers, and communities, and provide a foundation for sustainable scaling through strategic investment.
Overview
The assessment is divided into two main sections:
The Collaborative Standards Assessment - this will assess affiliates on where they stand in relation to the Program Standards (Teacher & Student). This survey should take approximately 1.5 hrs across multiple days to complete.
The Organizational Health Critical Inputs Self-Assessment - this will give each affiliate (as well as the National Office) the opportunity to reflect on its own sustainability as a provider of educational services. It focuses on operational practices that bear directly on the capacity to deliver high-quality programs -- i.e., our ability to achieve the Standards. The self-assessment is designed to be completed at the same time as the Collaborative Standards Assessment Survey and should take approximately 1.5 hrs across multiple days to complete.
Administration
On September 27, the National Office will send out the Google docs question guide and TWO SurveyMonkey links to each affiliate, one for the Collaborative Standards Assessment and one for the Organizational Health Self-Assessment. As the assessments cover a wide range of programmatic and organizational topics, we will recommend that they are FIRST completed as a team in this question guide. Then, one point person for the affiliate should go into the SurveyMonkey links and populate the answers (they will have to do this twice, once for the Collaborative Standards Assessment and once for the Organizational Health Self-Assessment). Please submit your responses via SurveyMonkey no later than October 27.
Directions:
1) Look through the question guide and assign questions/sections to teams (e.g., high school section for the high school program team).
2) Gather necessary materials (rosters, 990 documents, etc.) to answer assigned sections.
3) Highlight/fill out answers into the question guide. Please note that the red text are survey logic directions.
4) Choose one person to populate the answers into SurveyMonkey by October 27.
The National Office will be holding office hours every Friday from Oct 1- Oct 29. Please refer to the CSA and OHSA related emails sent from Alex Serna, our Chief Program Officer, for more information.
