What is a "digital breakout"?

Digital breakouts are a free, online version of an interactive, educational puzzle called Breakout EDU. In Breakout EDU, students use clues to figure out how to unlock a series of locks on a secured box. Based on escape room puzzles, students have to work collaboratively (or competitively) to find clues, solve them, and open the locks. In the digital version, the teacher creates the lock box with a Google Form and hides digital clues on a website.
