What Can Be Printed?

(Submit STL Files!)

The difference between...

...this...

...and this.

Pre-made files

Pre-made files can be found on websites like Thingiverse, Tinkercad, Onshape, and so on.

However, not everything can be 3D printed to look exactly like the model on the website.

  • Overhanging edges
  • Tiny details

Although this Deathclaw from Fallout 4 looks like it's well made, it may not be the best print due to the overhanging edges (arms, tail, torso leaning forward).*

This pineapple came from a $2000+ 3D printer that can print details down to 25 microns. Our current printers cannot print details this small, but they can be set to a more detailed setting. However, this increases the time of the print, making it not cost efficient.

This model has some severe overhanging areas on it, so how was it printed?

Although we cannot print some overhangs, this can be conquered by splitting the model into parts to later connect together.

This specific print is made up of 20+ pieces that were connected together.

When downloading files, make sure that they are stl files and can be printed!
