Hello! 

My name is Mrs. Van Wilgen and I am a 7th & 8th art teacher here at Walsh Intermediate School! I previously taught at North Branford Intermediate School and Bailey Middle School in West Haven.  I grew up in Branford and being at WIS is really like coming home for me.  I am so excited to get to meet all of my new students and to bring graphic art and design to Walsh! 

7th Grade Students: Students in the 7th grade will have art all year split between myself and Mrs. Kaiser.  While students are with me, they will be working on both traditional style projects (drawing and painting) then we will transition to the Mac lab to work on a variety of digital projects.  

8th Grade students: 

Photography Elective- Students who have chosen this class will be introduced to different photo projects using Ipads.  Students will be taking photos for a variety of projects then editing their photos using Photoshop.  

Year round Art Elective- Students in this class will have all three art teachers for 1 trimester.  During their time with me, students can expect to work on digital projects using Photoshop and learn some basic animation through programs like Adobe Character Animator.

Student should check google classroom frequently for assignments and rubrics.  All rubrics for how all assignments will be graded will be listed in google classroom at the beginning of each project.
