About Mrs. Ruzzin

Welcome First Grade Families!

My name is Sarah Ruzzin, and I’m thrilled to be your child’s first grade teacher this year at Oakwood Elementary! This will be my 17th year teaching in Brandon. Over the years, I’ve had the joy of teaching 2nd through 4th grade. This year, I’m excited to take flight into first grade alongside my longtime teaching partner, Ms. Schantz as we begin a brand-new adventure together!

To help you get to know me better I’d love to share a few things about myself. My husband is also a teacher. We have a daughter named Avery (11) and a son named Luke (9), who is at Oakwood as well! We’ve had a great summer, but I’m ready to jump back into teaching! I love spending time outdoors golfing and fishing, a lover of literature, an explorer of sorts…. Our family camps frequently. I am also a very big child advocate. That means I want the same thing you want—for your child to be safe, happy, and successful. 

In our classroom, kindness keeps our balloon afloat, curiosity fuels our journey, and teamwork will help us reach new heights. I know our year will be balloon-itful! We’ll rise higher together and float through learning adventures. Sometimes the wind might blow us in a tricky direction, but together we’ll always find the right path and keep moving, up, up and away! 

Our adventure is about to take flight and I’m thrilled you’re on board!
