Feel free to contact me with questions, comments, or concerns about your child's progress in my class.
Chromebooks: It is a requirement that all students in my history class have a district provided Chromebook. I use certain features on my tests that are not accessible from their personal devices. Please be sure to contact help@brandon.k12.mi.us to schedule a pick up if you do not already have one.
Grades: Grades are being updated weekly. If you want to check if work is being done by your student you can check their google classroom to see what has been turned in and what is missing. The actual grade your student has in the class will be reflected in Mi-Star and updates weekly. Please keep in mind, if a student turns in an assignment late, that assignment will not be graded or posted until the next grading cycle.
AIM: Students in this course will be working to regain credit in one of the following areas: English 9A, English 9B, English 10A, English 10B or English Elective. The class content will be reliant on students past experiences with texts offered in our district.
U.S. History: Students will be studying the Reconstruction period as their first unit. This unit should be a review from work in their 8th grade social studies course.
World History: Students will begin the year discovering what elements are neccessary for civilization and also studying the some of the earliest River Valley civilizations.
