Lessons and Activities

This is a course syllabus I designed to teach for the first time in Fall 2026. The main purpose is to teach Global Studies, with a focus on United States foreign policy in the world today. Students will complete a portfolio based on a goal they set at the onset of the class.

One of the goals I set for myself as a mid-career educator and Fulbright Participant is to improve students' listening and communication skills. This goal is to help students feel more comfortable and confident sharing ideas and communicating effectively with their peers.

In my Modern World History class, I want students to see the relevance of how major global events were shaped or influenced by events that happened close to home. Here, students investigate the role of industry in their local environs and how it has played (and continues to play) a role in global history.
