About Ms. McFarland

Greetings!

My name is Kelsey McFarland, the Elementary Physical Education Specialist at Braham Elementary School. This will be my fifth year teaching in Braham. I am so looking forward to getting back and seeing all of the wonderful students, families and staff that make Braham Area Schools such a special place.

I completed my B.S. in Physical Education from Iowa State University (Health and Coaching Endorsement as well). While at ISU, I played NCAA Division 1 College Softball (Big 12 Conference) as a starting center fielder. The thrill of competing against some of the best players in the country was always a dream of mine. The experience was fun, demanding and fulfilling all at the same time. 

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, the outdoors, being at the lake, staying fit, and anything that gets my adrenaline going (skydiving, whitewater rafting, roller coasters, etc). This summer, two highlights were parasailing and swimming in Lake Huron on Mackinac Island with my sister and taking a family vacation out to Maine where I got to rock climb on cliffs right next to the ocean and go lobster fishing. I can't wait to hear about your summers!

I am looking forward to an awesome 2024-25 school year with you. I am a believer in trying to make "lemonade out of lemons", so whatever the year brings I will do my best to turn it into a positive, fun and enjoyable experience in the gym.
