Who am I and where am I from?
I'm Raymond Abraham and grew up in Cambridge Minnesota. I graduated from the University of Minnesota Morris with a degree in Elementary Education. At Morris, I ran Cross Country and Track/Field which I did for all four years. This will be my sixth year at Braham Elementary and I couldn't be more excited for this school year! My family includes my wife (Melissa), our daughter (Lilah), my dad (Jason), mom (Sandy), four brothers (Nate, Charlie, Eric, and Henry), four sisters (Danielle, Kelsey, Emily and Ana), nine nephews (Elijah, Luka, Xander, Conway, Brock, Beau, Logan, Dylan, and Callan), two nieces (Joelle and Laurel), and a mini golden doodle (Bingley).
What are some things I like to do?
I love to go for runs, hike, play disc golf, ultimate frisbee, basketball, road trip, and row! Being outside is where you'll find me the most throughout summer and even in the winter. (winter running, building snowmen, and snowball fights can get pretty chilly!) I also love playing guitar and singing by the campfire. A little fun fact about me is that I have four guitars! Some of my other favorite things to do in the summer include reading and drinking coffee. This summer, we went to a couple waterparks, the lake, and parks. I also went to the College World Series to watch the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers vs the LSU Tigers. My daughter and I would go for a lot of runs together as well!
What am I most looking forward to this school year?
I am most looking forward to building connections with everyone! This year, we are going to stay positive throughout and have a ton of fun doing so. I am also excited to get to know the community of Braham some more as well as my fellow teachers here at Braham Area Schools. My best friend, Mr. Cease, will also be teaching at Braham this year in first grade. He was in my wedding and ran with me at Morris for 4 years. I also get to teach science and math this year which is going to be amazing!
