We read Have Fun, Molly Lou Melon by Patty Lovell and then used our imagination to make amazing things.

Grab some pipe cleaners or wax yarn sticks like the ones shown to the right which we purchased on Amazon to get creative.

In 5th grade we read Drum, Dream Girl by Margarita Engle and Rafael López.

Then, we made instruments ourselves. See the link to the left and check out some ways you can make instruments at home.

In 5th grade, we read The Sound of Silence by Katrina Goldsaito and Joulia Kuo. Then, we use cardstock, aluminum foil, tape, and rice to make a rainstick.

In 4th grade we read Shark Lady: The True Story of How Eugenie Clark Became the Ocean's Most Fearless Scientist by Jess Keating and Marta Álvarez Miguéns.

See the tutorials to the right on how to make a 3-D shark or draw a shark.

Click the link to to see a recipe for fake snow.

We made fake snow in the library using a 1:1 ratio of shaving cream and baking soda!

If you want to make it sparkly, just add glitter!
