I had the opportunity to visit a wonderful exhibition of works by Ukrainian embroiderers called "Treasures from Grandma's Chest" organized by my colleague Natalia Melenyshyn. These are amazing works that inspire, delight the eye and remind us once again of how talented our people are. It's a shame to realize that each and every one of us could have had such a legacy if our grandmothers had not had to go through the hardships of revolutions, collectivization, the Holodomor, repression, and war. Instead, it's nice that those gems (and the collection includes works by our grandmother Natalia Borysivna) that have survived to this day are now being carefully organized and displayed, popularizing embroidery as our national treasure, our treasures from our grandmother's chest.
4th year students of professional higher education study Polish language
On November 25-26, in groups 41, 42, 43, 44, we celebrated Andrzejki, a traditional holiday of the winter calendar cycle (St. Andrew's Day according to the church calendar) for many Slavic peoples, including Poles and Ukrainians. We told fortunes about our future profession, the surprises that await us, and, of course, love. We actively learned new Polish vocabulary, developed communication skills, and formed multicultural competence.

Let's Unite in Language!
The text from Oksana Stefanivna was great.)
And Vyshebaba read it in a cool, teacherly way. Somehow, after the dictation, in the wake of reflection, the thought flashed through my mind that we don't have many national traditions of this format - until I remembered the Radio Dictation dedicated to the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language and the daily minute of silence.

Happy birthday!
September 3 marks the birthday of Natalka Poklad, a well-known Ukrainian poet, publicist, educator, folklorist, public figure, and winner of numerous literary awards and honors.
"I love Natalka Poklad's writing. I love it because it has its feet on the ground - a truthful and incorruptible word. Poetry, short stories or novels, civil or intimate lyrics, fiction or journalism - everything in her is alive, everywhere, as in a mirror, a person," said writer Oksana Krotyuk about her colleague's work.
Natalia Poklad was born in the village of Mankivtsi, Vinnytsia region. "It was what my soul absorbed in my childhood and school years that turned out to be the most necessary and strongest," Natalia Poklad recalled. From the lips of her singing mother Halyna, who kept many songs in her memory, she recorded wedding songs that were included in the collection "Mankivska Wedding" - a folklore edition of an ancient wedding ceremony in Podillia.
She graduated from the Balti Pedagogical School and the Faculty of Philology at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. She has worked at school, in publishing houses such as Kyiv University and Veselka, in magazines such as Kyiv and International Tourism, at the Rylsky Institute of Art History, Folklore and Ethnology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and at the Research Institute of Ukrainian Studies.
Natalia Poklad works in many genres. She has more than ten published collections of poetry, books for children, and is an active contributor to the press with journalistic articles.
Her work is interesting not only for adult readers, but also for children, and there is no boring teaching in her work for children. Natalka Poklad's works have been translated into many languages.
Many years to come!
Prepared based on materials from open sources.
The day did all the work, and in silence, as if in gilding,
The world is closing in - churches and trenches... This silence is the sweetest to me,
This silence says more to me than all the exoticism of Europe.
The cradle, fragrant with autumn, is rocking... The Lord is so close!
And he looks at us softly... I was in the cradle as a baby,
All cries and sorrows are cut off, only silence and grace from Him...
***
...The rain is falling, fragrant, abundant, -Washing the earth and washing the soul,
He moves heavy boulders off it and says: "Hold on! And in the fall
Meet your fate with a holy loaf... "Dear rain, do you really KNOW?
***
The evening enters the yard like a proud lord, he says: "Turn on the light!"
I told him: "There is no light..." He stood on the threshold and furrowed his brow in surprise:
"How did you, a woman, work in such darkness all by yourself?"
"But we're no strangers to that," I sigh. "Okay, relax. I will sing to the stars and to you.
The immensity of the sky and the bright heart can be;
You, most importantly, forget all the sorrows of the day..."
Natalka Poklad
"...these steppes, this sky,
these forests, everything is so beautiful,
clean, untransformed, everything is as it is - the road,
the sycamores, everything is mine, everything is called Ukraine."
(L. Kostenko)

FLASH MOB DEDICATED TO THE DAY OF THE UKRAINIAN HEADSCARF - 2023
December 7 is the Day of the Ukrainian Headscarf. This is an unofficial holiday that was launched four years ago at the initiative of the Vinnytsia Club of Successful Women. It aims to popularize the headscarf as a traditional element of Ukrainian women's clothing, revive national traditions, and preserve traditional Ukrainian costumes. In 2023, the Day of the Ukrainian Headscarf brought together all members of the college - students, staff, teachers, and representatives of the administration - who were dressed in the colors of the Ukrainian headscarf. The colorful flash mob became one of the last bright pages in the chronicle of the Balta Pedagogical Professional College in the outgoing year.

Ukrainian word on the lips of gifted youth
Polina Matvienko, a third-year student of the Balta Pedagogical Professional College (teacher: Natalia Myagkokhod), won the second place in the regional stage of the XXIV Petro Yatsyk International Ukrainian Language Competition among higher education institutions of Odesa region.
At this difficult time for our country, teachers of philological disciplines are doing a powerful job by involving modern youth in international and national competitions, thereby promoting the Ukrainian word and patriotically inspiring the younger generation.
The national-patriotic education of modern youth cultivates the best features of the Ukrainian mentality: hard work, freedom, justice, kindness, honesty, and humanism. By participating in such a competition, college students realize the interconnection between individual freedom, human rights, and civic responsibility.
We sincerely thank Polina and Natalia Matvienko for their activity and indifference to the Ukrainian word and support of our country on all fronts!
We believe that the victory will be ours! Everything will be Ukraine!
