According to the educational reform, one of the key competencies is foreign language proficiency. This is important for everyone because a foreign language is an indispensable means of communication.
Teachers of the foreign language subject-cycle commission work to develop students' communicative, linguistic and socio-cultural competencies. Teachers develop the ability and desire to use a foreign language as a means of communication, as a way to engage in another culture; they form the professional qualities of a modern foreign language teacher. The teaching staff continues to develop the priority areas of work and traditions of the commission, established by V.A. Kuzmina, N.O. Kovtun, and S.K. Atamaniuk: actively participates in the work of regional and oblast methodological associations of foreign language teachers; prepares talented students to participate in competitions of various levels; realizes the educational goal by means of a foreign language.
