Submission Guidelines:
The Gallantry Journal welcomes completed research manuscripts that embody the aims, scope, and standards of the publication. As such, authors shall warrant that their manuscripts comply with all of the following without any exception:
Basic requirements
1. the paper is their original work;
2. they own the rights in the work;
3. their paper has not yet been published;
4. their paper is not being considered for publication elsewhere; and
5. they can secure all necessary permissions for the publication or reproduction of any parts of their paper which they do not own.
In addition to the basic requirements, The Gallantry Journal requires authors to follow specific standards on language, style, structure and formatting indicated below.
Language and Style
1. The manuscript shall be written either in academic English or Filipino.
2. The spelling may follow a specific English variety. However, such a spelling must be consistently used in the same manuscript.
3. The manuscript shall be intelligible to as wide readers as possible.
4. The manuscript shall be written clearly and accurately. Thus, it must be extensively copy-edited before submission.
Structure and Formatting
1. The manuscript in MSWord document shall contain the following information and sections:
a. Title. The title shall not be more than 15 words and shall highlight the focus of the study.
b. Author Information
b.1 Name. The full name/s of the author/s shall be written in uppercase.
b.2 Email. The author/s’ active email/s shall be indicated.
b.3 Affiliation. The affiliation/s of the author/s shall include the name of the institution, department, city and country and must not contain any abbreviations.
c. Abstract. The abstract shall be between 250-300 words only and must not contain any citations.
d. Keywords. The keywords shall be between 3-5 words or combination of words/phrases.
e. The Main Body of the Manuscript. As the journal only accepts full-length completed research papers, the manuscript shall contain the Introduction, Methodology, Results, Discussion, and Conclusion. The entire research paper shall be between 8,000-10,000 words only.
f. References. The references shall follow the APA 7th edition format.
g. Declarations. The declarations shall include information about ethical procedures, research funding and support, authors’ contributions, and the statement of consent for publication.
2. The font shall be 11-point Arial and the paragraph spacing shall be double spaced with first line indentation. Headings shall be written in Bold letters while the sub-headings shall be in Italic.
3. Tables and illustrations or figures shall be kept to a minimum. The author/s must indicate in the manuscript where the tables and/or figures shall appear.
