The Derby Dragon Wrestling Team is an interscholastic sport for 6-8th grade students. The program is designed to teach students the basics of collegiate-style wrestling. Students will attend practice to build their skills, strength, and endurance in order to compete against both their teammates, as well as opponents from other schools. Wrestlers will compete against opponents based on similar weight and experience.

Important Dates:

• 1/21/2025 First Official Date of Practice - All athletes attend for the first full contact practice. 

Make sure your student is fully registered in Final Forms, including uploading a current physical dated on or after 4/15/24

• 1/28/2025 Parent Informational Meeting - Parent meeting in the Cafeteria

• 2/28/2025 - Wear your competition warm-up and uniform. Order forms will be passed out during practice. 

Equipment needed for practice: 

• athletics short or pants

• wrestling shoes (We have a limited quantity available to borrow on a first come basis)

• head-gear (We will provide or you can purchase your own.) 

Competition uniform and warmups will be provided to each participant. 

Pick-up after practice and home-meets should ONLY be done at the Gym entrance at 5:00 PM.
