Class Structure

Credentialed teachers provide information and lead discussions on child development, community resources for families, and a variety of age-specific parenting topics. The parents’ discussion may include handouts and open discussion.

Parent & Child Classes

In these classes, the adults are the students and their children attend with them. The children enjoy socializing with other children while playing, exploring arts and crafts, music and other activities both indoors and out.  Circle time for the children may include singing, dancing, stories and more.​ All parenting styles are honored.  Classroom aides are there to assist the children during parent discussion time.  Class structure varies with each instructor but below we have provided two sample schedules.

Sample Parent & Child Schedule 1

9:00am - 9:30am - Free Play inside or outside

9:30am - 10:00am - 1st Discussion

(half the parents go to another room while the other half stays to watch the children along with a Teacher’s Aide)

10:00am - 10:30am - Circle Time (story time and music time) / Snack Time

10:30am - 11am - 2nd Discussion

(the other half of parents will have a turn for discussion)

11:00am - 11:15am - Goodbyes​​
