My name is Heather Moore and I am extremely excited about being your School Counselor at Ponderosa Elementary. This is my third year as a school counselor, but I’ve been teaching elementary school kiddos for the past 11 years. I graduated with my B.A. in Elementary Education from Morehead State University, followed by my M.A. in School Counseling from MSU, as well! I absolutely love spending time making memories with my family. We enjoy traveling, camping, playing board games, laughing, and experience all that life has to offer us.

I feel like I have the best job in the entire school! I love my students and I’m fully committed to helping them grow and succeed socially, emotionally, as well as academically. I reach 100% of student population by teaching classroom character education classes, weekly. Some of the subjects we discuss include: social skills, career development, economics, bullying, healthy choices, and friendship.

I am dedicated to you and your child. My goal is to bring communication, awareness, and advocacy for students, parents, staff, and community stakeholders to the forefront. As culture, climate, and community are very imperative in fostering a warm, loving, and healthy environment... I will continue to do my part in providing this at Ponderosa Elementary.
