Hello! My name is Kara Dietz, and I’m excited to be starting my 22nd year teaching in BOUSD! I spent my first nine years teaching at Brea Junior High and have spent the past 13 years at Brea Olinda High School. I truly feel fortunate to have spent my entire teaching career in the Brea community!
I’m a proud Brea graduate—Fanning Elementary, Brea Junior High, and Brea Olinda High School. Being able to come back and teach in the district that gave so much to me as a student is incredibly special. Brea has always been home, and I feel so lucky to now be part of the same community that helped shape who I am today.
I earned my B.A. in Liberal Studies from Cal Poly Pomona, my Teaching Credential from Chapman University, and my Master’s Degree and Administrative Credential from Hope International University.
When I’m not at school, you’ll most likely find me spending time with my nephew, JT, and niece, Amanda. They are definitely the light of my life and my two favorite people!
I love being a teacher and feel so lucky to get to do what I love every day—building relationships, creating memories, and helping students feel connected, supported, and valued. I’m grateful for every year, every student, and every opportunity to make a difference.
Once a Wildcat, Always a Wildcat! 💚💛
