Responsibilities
Educational Leadership:
Providing vision and direction for the district's educational programs.
Overseeing the implementation of state and federal education mandates.
Working to improve student achievement and outcomes.
Developing and implementing strategic plans.
Administrative Oversight:
Managing the district's budget and finances.
Supervising the hiring and dismissal of personnel.
Overseeing the maintenance and operation of school facilities.
Managing transportation and other operational aspects of the district.
Ensuring that the laws relating to the schools, the bylaws, rules, and regulations of the Kentucky Board of Education, and the regulations and policies of the district board of education are carried into effect. 1
Board Relations:
Serving as the executive agent of the school board.
Providing professional advice and recommendations to the board.
Implementing board policies and decisions.
Preparing all rules, regulations, bylaws, and statements of policy for approval and adoption by the board.
Community Engagement:
Building and maintaining relationships with parents, community members, and other stakeholders.
Communicating effectively with the public about district activities and initiatives.
Acting as a liaison between the school district and the community.
Financial Responsabilities:
Approve an annual budget for the district.
Overseeing annual audits of the financial dealings of the district.
