A database is a curated digital library filled with verified articles, news reports, and reference books. Unlike a standard internet search that includes unverified blogs and rumors, databases only contain content checked by experts for factual accuracy. It uses an organized filtering system, allowing you to instantly find high-quality, engaging reading on specific topics without the clutter of the open web.
Gale provides curriculum-aligned digital databases designed for K-12 students. These platforms supply trustworthy, grade-appropriate, and multimedia-rich content (articles, primary sources, and videos) to build information literacy and support instruction across core subjects.
Elementary: Tailored for young learners, it covers science, social studies, and literature with age-appropriate multimedia and reading tools.
Middle School: Combines reference content with age-appropriate videos, newspapers, and primary sources to support middle-grade curricula.
High School: Aligns with secondary-school standards to help students with research papers, projects, and critical-thinking exercises.
Opposing Viewpoints: Explores controversial social issues, providing balanced, multi-perspective content to encourage debate and information literacy.
