Family Council Fundraising
The Mozart Family Council maintains 501-c3 status as the result of a fiscal sponsorship with the Boston Educational Development Fund (BEDF).
The most significant fundraising priority of the Family Council each year is to cover the full cost of the Making Music Matters (MMM) program for all students in Grade 3-6. MMM facilitates weekly instrument lessons (Flute, Trumpet, Violin, and Clarinet). The annual cost of the program varies based on the number of students who opt into to participate, but Family Council is committed to ensuring that every eligible student can participate 100% free of charge.
In addition to MMM, funds raised by the Family Council support a variety of family engagement activities over the course of the school year. Historically those activities have included:
Parent and Family Nights Out
Grade Level Coffee Hours for Parents
Pizza and Glow Sticks on the Playground
Family Game Nights
The End of Year BBQ
Free or Subsidized Student Year Books
Teacher Appreciation Week
