Mobile Library Visits

Let the library come to you!

Mobile library visit cart with notes reading "a selection of books on a cart brought to your room", "great for small groups or during independent work," and "pick from different available genres and formats."

Details

Have students browse and check out books right in your classroom!

On your scheduled date, I will come to your room with at least 80 books for your students to pick from. I will select books based on your selections/your students' interests and grade level. To check books out, students can use their library cards or tell me their student ID.

I can either stay for a set amount of time or for the entire period. Please plan on no more than 4 students browsing at a time (the cart is not that big!). You can group students or to allow students to come up individually during independent work.

This activity is best suited to support independent reading. At this time, I am not able to bring multiple copies of the same title.

Supporting Materials

Before your visit, you can choose to use a student interest survey to help me select books for when I visit! I am happy to share your students' responses with you.

Below are a few slides you can choose to copy into your slides either before I visit or on the day of the visit. The first slide includes a link to the student interest form.

Book Now!

Pick a date on the calendar below to get started!

You can list genres, formats, or topics your students are interested in, or leave the selection up to me.

A calendar event will be automatically generated. Please note that for 3rd period, the times may be a little off due to lunch.

Additional Services

For even more options, I can bring the book recommendation binder, which contains visual lists of books that DSA owns. If a student wants to pick a book from the binder, I can place it on hold for the student to pick up either later that day or, if the book is checked out, once a copy is returned.

This is also a great opportunity for me to help individual or small groups of students access eBooks and audiobooks.

Finally, I can make replacement library cards for students who have lost theirs.

Questions?

I am always open to feedback on how to make things easier for you and our students! Let me know if you have questions or suggestions.
