As we continue in this remote platform, I am fortunate this year to have a wonderful team of trainees supporting our work. Students from both the Greater Boston area and across the country seek opportunities to learn from the Behavioral Health Department in BPS. I am thrilled to introduce you to the trainees across a range of graduate and post-graduate work who are working with me this year to support our schools, students, families, and communities.

About Me
Sheera Hefter, Ph.D, NCSP is a member of Behavioral Health Services (BHS) in the Boston Public Schools. Presently she supports students, families, and teachers across three schools in the district from K0-8. Though conducting special education evaluations and the provision of counseling services and consultation to students who are currently receiving special education remains a large part of her responsibilities, she also provides technical assistance and consultation in her role as an internal coach to schools utilizing the Comprehensive Behavioral Health Model (CBHM). In addition, Dr. Sheera participates as part of a multi-disciplinary team conducting guardianship evaluations for students in the district. Dr. Sheera currently serves as a co-chair of the University Supervisors Committee for BHS and the Director of Clinical Training for the Boston Public School's School Psychology Doctoral Internship Program.
Dr. Sheera received her doctoral degree in School Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Prior to her doctoral studies, she earned a Masters of Science in Education in Educational Psychology, and a Professional Diploma in School Psychology from Fordham University. In addition to classroom teaching (elementary, middle, undergraduate, and graduate school), her experience includes system-level school consultation, the promotion of professional development across levels of school personnel, and work as a behavioral consultant. Subsequent to her time as a school psychologist in the public schools, she obtained clinical experience conducting neuropsychological evaluations, and providing therapy to youth and adolescents in the private sector. To date, Dr. Sheera's research has focused primarily on the fidelity of implementation of Social and Emotional Learning curricula and the applications of the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework to new environments. In addition to her licensure from the Massachusetts Department of Early and Secondary Education as both a School Psychologist and an Administrator of Special Education, she holds certification as a Nationally Certified School Psychologist, and is Licensed as a Psychologist/Health Service Provider in Massachusetts.
