A rigorous Latin course suited for students who have done well in Latin 3 or Latin 3 Pre-AP

LATIN POETRY

A close reading of myths and ancient romances suited for students who want to continue with Latin after Latin 3 or AP Latin

MYTH TRADITION

Exploration of ancient myths and stories from around the world, in comparison to Ancient Greek and Roman myths and the modern world. (Class and readings are in English)

GREEK 1

An intro course to Ancient Greek suited for language, history, culture, and mythology lovers

Why take a Classics Elective?

You have so many options to pick from for electives, so why should you take a Classics elective?

these courses aren't offered at most high schools, so taking one of these courses will help you stand out during your college application process
you are at Boston Latin Academy, these courses are a perfect capstone to your time at BLA, making your Classical education so much more meaningful
taking any one of these courses will be a true rigorous challenge for your Junior or Senior year
get the opportunity to go into more depth on things you merely scratched the surface on in your first few Latin courses
