Home Internet
Internet companies have been asked to step up to the plate and they are delivering! Here's what we have so far:
If you do not have internet connection at home outside of your cell phone service, please email ccarney2@bostonpublicschools.org. We will add your name to a list for wifi hotspots that we are hoping to deliver to families!
Comcast: All BPS families who are in need of home Internet can get two months of FREE Comcast high speed Internet. No cost to the family. Details here
Cell Phones: All major carriers will have unlimited high-speed data for the next two months as part of the "Keep America Connected" pledge. Most cell phone and home internet companies have pledged NOT to disconnect service for unpaid bills for the next two months. This means that our students will not lose their Internet if their family is unable to pay the bill during this time.
Chromebook Distribution
BPS Chromebooks are being provided to:
Students who only have access to a mobile phone for learning at home.
Students who share a computer at home and often do not have access to a computer for homework.
Students who do not have a computer that is in working condition for online learning.
If you need a Chromebook for your student, please fill out this form: www.bostonpublicschools.org/laptop
After filling out the form, you will receive an email and text message to schedule an appointment. Email invitations will be sent out each day as we go through grade levels, starting with high school grade levels first. Distribution of Chromebooks will take place over several days.
We want to make sure the process keeps everyone safe and does not create large crowds. Since we have 20,000 devices to distribute, it may take a few days to schedule an appointment.

Adults play a big role in students’ learning. Explore learning sites with children, ask them questions about what they are learning, and engage in conversations about what they are watching on TV. Studies show that children learn more when they are able to talk about what they are learning.
