Financial Aid Appeals

If you receive a financial aid package that is not sufficient, you can choose to appeal it and ask for more aid. 

Some reasons why you might want to appeal your aid include: your parent has retired or lost their job since the 2023 tax year, you have a sibling in college, your parents' marital status has changed, you made an error in filling out your financial aid forms that was not corrected before it was sent to colleges. 

The process for appealing financial aid looks different at every school, so you should look at your school's financial aid website to learn about what steps you will need to take. Some schools have a specific form that you can find online, and others will require you to write an email to the financial aid office explaining your request for an appeal.
