Scholarships can range in award amount from $500 to a full-tuition scholarship ($40,000 a year or more), and there are TONS of them out there! Many smaller and local scholarships have deadlines in the spring, while some competitive, full-tuition National scholarships have deadlines very early on the fall, so you should always be on the lookout for scholarships that you fit the criteria for! Don't be afraid of scholarships that require a bit of work either—if you're qualified, these are often the most lucrative!
Note: Beware of scholarships that you have to PAY to apply to—they should be giving you money, not the other way around!
One of the easiest ways for students to keep track of scholarships and their deadlines and requirements is to make a spreadsheet. Guidance has started spreadsheets for school-specific and outside scholarships that BAA students might be eligible for. Students are encouraged to make copies of these spreadsheets and use them to track their scholarship progress. Guidance will continue to add scholarships to these spreadsheets as we come across them, so continue to check them! Those in grey have dates that have passed.
Scholarships are a form of aid that does not have to be repaid.
College-Specific Scholarships
Colleges may offer scholarships to students who enroll at their institution. While many types of scholarships are available, the scholarships shown on this page are all merit-based, meaning students qualify based on academic performance. Check out college websites for other scholarships, which may require an additional application.
National and Local Scholarships
Students can qualify for other scholarships from different organizations based on factors like extracurricular involvement, leadership, athletics, intended major, and more. A separate application is usually required.
