Training lasts 4 months and is part-time (average of 10 instruction hours a week).
Program schedule includes evening instruction on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, and morning instruction on some Saturdays.
The HVAC program at Madison Park is a 240-hour course where students will have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of HVAC-R.
Students will learn electrical, mechanical, and hands-on skills, relevant to HVACR. As a graduate of Madison Park, you will have the qualifications to enter the highly technical trade of HVAC-R.
This program offers the opportunity to learn the service practices, components, and equipment used in the HVACR trade. The students will also learn the proper methods of recovery and the handling of refrigerants, and be prepared to take the EPA refrigerant technician licensure test.
The program will include heating and cooling concepts, electrical theory, refrigeration theory, gas technology, HVAC system operations, calculations, and troubleshooting procedures.
Upon completion of the program, students will be prepared to begin working as entry-level HVAC-R Technicians.
July, August, and September Schedule
Classes meet on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8:00 am - 12 noon.
This schedule gives you the best training experience and allows you to begin looking for a job on or before Thanksgiving Fall Schedule with certifications in hand.
The Program continues in the Fall, but the hours shift to the late afternoon and early evening schedule.
Classes take place on Monday and Wednesday from 4:00 - 8:OO pm and Saturday from 8:00 am to 12 noon.
The Fundamentals of Welding for Industry is a rigorous welding certification training program offered by the Madison Park Technical Institute located at the Madison Park Technical Vocational High School. This program will provide the training and skills needed to get a good entry-level job as a welder.

What do welders do? Welders use hand-held equipment to join or cut metal parts. Welding is the most common way of permanently joining metal parts. In this process heat is applied to metal pieces, melting, and fusing them to form a permanent bond.
Welding is commonly used in manufacturing, automotive repair, and especially construction and repair of buildings and bridges and other parts of our infrastructure.
What are the job opportunities for Welders? Because the construction industry has been booming in Boston there has been a strong and steady demand for skilled welders. The federal government will spend hundreds of billions of dollars on repairs to the nations crumbling infrastructure: roads, bridges, and tunnels.
The Madison Park Technical Institute offers you the opportunity to join the growing ranks of welders in Boston. As a welder in Boston, or elsewhere, you can work for a small independent construction company or become a member of a union and work on some of the largest construction projects in the City, or anywhere.
The opportunity to join the class for the Fundamentals of Welding for Industry program at the Madison Park Technical Institute
The entire program is on-site at Madison Park Technical Vocational High School.
Once accepted into the Program, students will be provided with a safety kit and other training materials that remain with you upon completion.
Staff members at the MassHire Career Center and the Madison Park Technical Institute will work with you one-on-one to assist you with job placement upon the successful completion of the Program.
Students will receive Industry Credentials and Certifications recognized across many industries upon completing the program.
All students accepted into the Program will be required to sign a Letter of Commitment affirming their intention to complete the program and respect the safety measures needed in the welding shop.
Students will participate in job readiness workshops and guest speakers from potential employers who will answer questions about the opportunities in the industry, in their companies, or the union.
