Adult Education at Boston Public Schools offers a variety of courses to help you earn a high school diploma, improve your English language skills, and learn new skills by completing any of our job training programs

Fall Semester starts in September 2024

HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM

BPS Adult Education offers classes in the morning, evening and online courses from 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This is a 16-course program specialized for students who have credits to transfer from their previous high school and are close to graduation. You must have completed school through grade 8 or be at least 16 to join this program.

All students must obtain a passing score on the MCAS in Mathematics, English Language Arts, and Science to graduate.

WHEN CAN I START CLASSES? 

Classes will start in September 2024.

ENGLISH CLASSES

Adult Education, Boston Public Schools provides English language instruction to students who want to study English. These classes are in the morning or evening. 

This video will provide you with detailed information about the English as a Second Language Program.

WEEKLY SCHEDULE

Morning classes: Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM. 

Evening classes: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

You must take a placement test to assess your English level. We will contact you to schedule an assessment once we received your enrollment form.
