Redefining the Streets of TaiTung Village
Redefining the Streets of TaiTung Village
This project is meant to celebrate the culture of Chinatown but also tackling the problems between having a green space in such a densely built environment. This space is meant to be a bridge between natural elements and functional infrastructure promoting the outdoor engagement of all ages.Â
TaiTung street is located next to Tai Tung complexes. The street itself is very narrow with many cracks on the sidewalks, creating an unpleasent travel. This part itself is also made from turf with little shade or seating
Sketches were used to illustrate the feel of the space and the different programs included. The main focus was to understand the placement of the design.
Collaging was vital to understand the context of the area in the surrounding site. The primary focus was to create a space that juxtaposes the surrounding monotone and concrete buildings. The collage inspired the type of material that would be used to emulate the feel of the TaiTung.
Rendering was the last step to making the ideas and solution created from the site analysis into a visual representation. The render would fully combine space and form.
