Bella Chavarro was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, where she attends Boston Latin School. She has been passionate about neuroscience, specifically about how the brain works, since she experienced a concussion in 2021. Last summer, Bella was privileged to work as a research assistant for Dr. Marc Weisskopf at the Harvard School of Public Health. While there she worked with the Weisskopf lab on their work in environmental neuroepidemiology. Bella was excited to continue working in the field after this experience. Thus, she decided to pursue a Capstone Project on a significant but little-researched topic in the field: the effect of fish consumption on cognition and brain function. Bella will be attending the College of William and Mary next year as a double major in Neuroscience and Anthropology.
