SIX FEET AP[ART]

As 2020 turned to 2021, we wondered how our community was processing all that happened during the previous months and what brighter futures they were dreaming of. We thought, What better way to find out than by offering an opportunity to come together and express ourselves through a co-created art project? And thus Six Feet Ap[ART] was born.

This past spring, our community came together (socially distanced!) to paint their reflections on the past year and hopes for the future on wooden panels that we set up outside the Boston Court building. People of all ages, of different artistic abilities, and of different backgrounds contributed to this communal art project. Each person’s painted square contributed to the patchwork murals that are now on display in the Branson.

From a dove made of surgical masks to powerful meditations on societal inequity to the most adorable corgi ever, we were blown away by the beauty, creativity, thoughtfulness, whimsy, and depth-of-meaning that each person brought to the project. We are overjoyed to share the work with all of you and hope that it can serve as both a profound encapsulation of the past year-and-a-half, and a beacon of hope for what is to come.
