Winter 2026-2027 Athletics Registration - Deadline November 23rd | Please Read

Hello Everyone,

Please read this entire email carefully. It contains everything needed to complete registration for Winter Athletics, and every requirement matters. We encourage families to take the time to review it in full, just as we expect our student-athletes to bring care and commitment to everything they do. Most registration issues come from steps that were missed or skipped, and they are easily avoided by reading closely. 

Winter Athletics registration opens October 23rd and closes November 23rd at 11:59 PM. This is a hard deadline. There will be no extensions and no exceptions. Please do not email me asking for one. You will not get one.

All requirements must be completed by the deadline for athletes to be cleared for tryouts. Please do not wait until the last minute. Incomplete or incorrect registrations are one of the most common reasons students are not cleared to participate.

Once you have registered, log back into your FamilyID account and check your status. You will see either:

• Approved, or

• Correction Required

If corrections are needed, an email explaining what to update and why will be sent to the address you used in FamilyID. Please address corrections right away to avoid delays.

Winter Sports Offered

• 6th-8th Grade |  Grade Boys Middle School Basketball

• 6th-8th Grade | Girls Middle School Basketball

• 9th-12th Grade |  Boys Varsity Basketball

• 9th-12th Grade |  Girls Varsity Basketball

• 7th-12th Grade | Stomp & Shake

• 7th-12th Grade |  Indoor Track

Season Start and Tryout Information
The Winter season begins November 30th for Boys & Girls Basketball, Indoor Track, and Stomp & Shake.

Tryout dates: Monday, November 30th; Tuesday, December 1st; Wednesday, December 2nd; and Thursday, December 3rd.

Tryout times for all three programs are Monday 1:30-3:30 PM, and Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 3:30-5:30 PM.

• Basketball: The Kroc Center, 650 Dudley St. Transportation will not be available. Students are responsible for getting to the Kroc Center for tryouts.

• Indoor Track: Mayhew Campus

• Stomp & Shake: Mayhew Campus, Dance Studio

Requirements for Tryout Clearance

1. Complete the FamilyID registration form. This includes health information reviewed by the Nurse’s Office.

2. Complete and upload the required MIAA certifications:

   • Concussion Certificate (must be renewed annually)

   • Implicit Bias Training

3. Certificates must include the athlete’s name. Any certificate dated before Fall 2026 will not be accepted. Links to both courses are on the registration form. You will need to create an NFHS account to “order” each course. After completing them, upload your certificates to the registration form.

4. Submit a current physical. Upload an image of your physical exam (valid for 12 months). Athletes with expired physicals cannot try out.
   If you are having difficulty scheduling a physical, the urgent care locations below provide them. Many of our students have used them in the past and been successful. Please don’t let this be the reason you miss the deadline.

   • Mass General Brigham Urgent Care, Boston Common

Academic Eligibility: Not Negotiable
Students must pass all classes for Q1 to be eligible for Winter athletics. The academic requirement is not up for negotiation. Failing any class in Q1 will make a student ineligible not only for the Winter season, but for the remainder of the school year.
