I am a Louisiana native who found my way to the classroom in 2013 through the Troops to Teachers Program. As a Navy Veteran trained in Advanced Electronics and Computer Field ratings, I discovered a passion for teaching the Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Engineering curriculum. My engineering background includes maintaining and operating the Navy's NATO Seasparrow Missile System (NSSMS) and Phalanx Close-In Weapons System (CIWS).
I am a strong advocate for the benefits of Project-Based Learning (PBL) and Peer-Assisted Learning, which are integral to the PLTW curriculum. These methods provide students with classroom experiences that closely replicate the software, processes, and projects found in college engineering programs. This pre-engineering pipeline offers students a significant advantage in their educational and career pursuits.
My family and I are deeply invested in the educational opportunities in our community. My wife is a professor of Medical Laboratory Sciences at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, and we have two amazing children progressing through the Bossier Parish School system.
