Head Boys Basketball Coach

Teaching: Coach Darbonne graduated from Northwestern State University with his Bachelors of Science: Secondary Education - Social Studies. After graduation he spent his first year teaching at Minden High School where he taught Civics and Introductory to Careers. From there, he came to Benton Middle School. He taught Louisiana Studies for two years and then one year of American History 2.

Coaching: During his time at Northwestern State, he joined Coach Mike McConathy's men's basketball staff as a student manager for two years. While there, Coach Darbonne led NSU Middle Lab boys basketball team to an undefeated season. Upon graduating, he accepted a position to become an assistant coach for Minden High Schools Varsity girls basketball team under head coach, Jacob Brown. Coach Darbonne then accepted the position to become the next head basketball coach for Benton Middle School boys basketball team. He is currently in his third season as the boys head coach. He also served as an assistant coach for BMS's girls basketball team for one season under head coach, Shaune Cherrier.
