Hello Haughton Middle School! I'm Amanda Temple, and I'm thrilled to be your new librarian. Family comes first for me – you'll often hear me talk about my husband, Cody, and our kids, Micah, Makena, and Maddox. My family is my greatest joy and keeps me grounded.
I truly believe that learning is a lifelong adventure, and there's always something new to discover. Reading isn't just essential for success; it's also incredibly fun! And the best part? We learn so much more when we learn together. My journey began as a television news reporter, but my commitment to family led me to pursue a Master's in Education. I've had the privilege of teaching English Language Arts to 6th, 7th, 9th, and 12th graders, and even guided our high school seniors through their capstone projects for many years. I am excited to bring my classroom experience to the library.
I’ve always been committed to seeking out purposeful, resourceful, and analytical knowledge – which is probably why my favorite Disney Princess is Belle! She's kind, courageous, loyal to her family, and she absolutely LOVES to read. I also coach cheer and sponsor FCA; as the HMS Cheer coach, I'm excited to bring that same spirit, enthusiasm, and dedication to the library. My goal is to help every student love learning and love Haughton Middle School as much as I do and to support our incredible teachers in their instruction.
I want the library to be a place everyone wants to visit and keep coming back for more!
Meet Your Librarian Assistant, Mrs. Lewis!

Hello Friends! My name is Cheryl Lewis, and I am the Library assistant at Haughton Middle School! I am married to my best friend, Mark, and together we have three daughters: Alana, Allison, and Averi. I am known as Pooh to my two adorably cute grand babies, Nash and Olivia! Being their Pooh is my most cherished role.
Prior to coming to HMS, I served our country's veterans as a Physical Therapy Assistant for 23 years. To say I’m excited to be starting my second year as part of the HMS family is an understatement! I love our library and look forward to fostering an environment where Mrs. Temple and I can engage your students and provide them opportunities to unlock their imaginations, build lasting relationships, and achieve their academic goals!
