Bienvenidos to Parkway and Spanish 1. Recently, I moved from Abilene, Texas. I'm returning home after many years teaching in Mississippi and Texas. I graduated from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas with a BA in French, Spanish, and Journalism. I have a MA in English and Spanish from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy writing, reading, and traveling. I love cats, hot tea, and watching movies. My two children are adults now living and working in Louisiana. Please feel free to contact me this year with any questions, concerns, or suggestions.

Have a great year!!!

Hi!! I am so excited to be teaching at PHS!! This is my 12th year to teach Spanish, and 7 of those years were at Parkway! I have an Education degree as well as a Masters degree from Northwestern State University...fork em!! I began teaching in 2004, and I taught at Parkway for 7 years. I moved to Airline for three years, but I took a break to have two sweet girls and watch them grow up. My oldest daughter is 5 and my youngest is 4, and I cannot believe they are that old! I am married to my college sweetheart, Jared, and we love to travel and play golf. My class is almost totally paperless!! My students are connected to my Google Classrooms, so they do most of their work electronically! We also use Duolingo daily as well as Conjuguemos weekly. Most of my students opt to change their phone's settings to Spanish during their year with me, so they are constantly using Spanish! Me encanta!!

¡Saludos a todos! My name is Sarah Jones, and I am delighted to join the Parkway family. I am a first year Spanish teacher. Born and raised in Ruston, Louisiana, I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication from Louisiana Tech University. I am currently earning my teaching certification through Louisiana College in Pineville. My history in immigrant and refugee work in both Chicago and Denver first sparked my desire to invest in language studies. Since graduation I have had the pleasure to work and study abroad twice in Madrid, Spain. I consider it my home away from home; however, there is nothing like being back in Louisiana and close to family. I look forward to teaching my passion and helping my students succeed to achieve their goals!
