2019 ALAS State Champions - Bullseye and 3-D
Congratulations! The Benton Middle School Archery Team placed 1st in the ALAS State Bullseye tournament and the ALAS State 3-D tournament held April 5 & 6 in Shreveport. Cassidy Walters won the top spot in Bullseye Middle School Division with a $3,000 scholarship, a 1st place trophy and the coveted State Red Bow. She also placed 3rd overall in Middle School 3-D, a 3rd place trophy, and a $750 scholarship. Thomas Allen placed 1st as the top 3-D shooter winning a $1,500 scholarship check and a trophy. Emma Rutledge and Brailey Bishop were involved in a shootout for 5th place girl Bullseye shooter. Emma edges out Brailey to win the 5th place trophy and a $250 scholarship check. Emma came on strong in 3-D placing 2nd overall, winning the 2nd place trophy and a $1,000 scholarship check. Finally, Ethan Isaksen placed 3rd overall in 3-D and brought home a trophy and a $750 scholarship check.
2019 National Teams Announced
We are extremely proud of all of our archers this year. Many have faced tough challenges this year and we are in awe of their tenacity and love of our sport. True greatness is not determined by winning, but by never giving up.
To all of our archers whose season ends this month, don't stop shooting. You are amazing! Keep practicing and come back strong next season.

Alternate archers: Cavitt Hilburn, Aaron Inthavong, Isabelle Russell, LilyBeth Stephens, Jayden Young, These archers will shoot either bullseye or 3-D, possibly both, but their placement will be determined at a later date. All alternate archers will shoot in Louisville.
National Archer Parent Meeting: Monday, April 8th in the gym at 6pm.

2019 ALAS Regional Champions
Congratulations! The Benton Middle School Archery Team placed 1st in the ALAS North Regional tournament held January 5th with an impressive score of 3,411 points! The 2nd team shooters scored an outstanding 3,223 points to earn 3rd place!

On Thursday, October 4th, several Benton Middle Archers were recognized at the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission meeting held Baton Rouge, LA.
After the meeting, archers were treated to lunch at the Waddil Wildlife Refuge where they were welcome to fish in stocked bass and catfish ponds and practice on the shotgun, BB-gun, and archery ranges.
We would like to thank Mr. Chad Moore and his staff promoting archery across the state and for working so tirelessly to recognize our archers hard work and dedication to our sport!
