Class overview

Course Description: In this class, we will be working through the following units: Geology on Mars, Plate Motion, Plate Motion Engineering Internship, Rock Transformation, Thermal Energy, Natural Selection, and Natural Selection Engineering Internship.

We will use Amplify to complete these units, which you can be access through clever. Amplify is a new and wonderful curriculum used throughout the district for grades 6-8. In this curriculum, students learn from figuring out information rather than just having it handed to them. Studies have shown that this type of learning/ instruction help with a deeper understanding of the material.

All material is available to be taught online & on paper. Students will be completing the work on the computer, so that is important students bring their Chromebook charged to class, it is also important students complete all lesson. The lessons will be provided to students through Google classroom & Clever. This new curriculum is based on Louisiana Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). For more info.
