Expectations

Membership Selection

Membership in the Pep Squad shall be open to any student currently enrolled in HMS or any student who plans to attend during the 2021-2022 academic year.

Membership Requirements

  • Each member must be capable of purchasing uniforms. Cost will be $200.00 (NONREFUNDABLE, CASH OR MONEY ORDER ONLY) which will provide the member a uniform, t-shirt, hair bow (girls) & jacket. Members must purchase all-white shoes and leggings separately. These can be purchased from any vendor/store, but Shreveport Gymnastic Supply can order shoes and leggings with your uniform for an additional fee. The t-shirt is approved by the HMS dress code and can be worn any day.

  • Members must attend all required events & practices for the full length of time required. All appointments should be made during school breaks, if possible.

  • Members must be fitted for a uniform at Shreveport Gymnastics Supply Company before the cut off date. Failure to do will result in a $25 late fee paid to Shreveport Gymnastics Supply.

  • Members will be required to provide their own transportation to practices & games. Arriving late & being picked up late will result in demerits.

  • Members must be in complete uniform as designated by the sponsor or they will not be allowed to cheer at the game. Hair must be of natural color. Hair must be up and secure at all times and no jewelry worn as a safety precaution. This includes bracelets, watches, hair bands on the wrist, and earrings.

  • If at any point in the year a member outgrows their uniform making it too short/tight, you will be required to purchase a new skirt and/or shell top.

Code of Conduct

Members must display appropriate behavior both in and out of school. Immediate dismissal will result for the following infractions:

  1. expulsion from school

  2. smoking or use of alcohol and/or drugs

  3. inappropriate photos where a member is wearing clothing/uniform that displays the Haughton name or behavior that reflects a negative image on the team or school

  4. having any body piercing other than earrings

Grades

If any member does not maintain a 2.0 GPA (on progress report and report card), he/she may be “benched” until he/she raises his/her GPA. Being “benched” means that members will not be allowed to attend home games. This will affect tryout eligibility.

The sponsor & administration reserve the right to dismiss a squad member for any reason they deem necessary.
