James Beeson is a graduate of West Texas A&M University where he received his Master's Degree in Fine Arts, emphasis in Music. He received his bachelor's degree in Music Education from the University of Southern Mississippi. While at Southern Miss, he participated in the Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band and Marching Band. Mr. Beeson’s principal instrument is Tuba and Trombone.
Mr. Beeson has taught band, private lessons, and Small ensembles in Mississippi and Texas for 35 years. His groups have won numerous awards and been consistent Sweepstakes winners. He has been a head director and assisted bands in Texas that consistently rank in the top tiers of musical achievement in the state. Prior to coming to Bosqueville, Mr. Beeson taught in Mississippi, New Mexico, Laredo, Houston, Austin, Waco, Flatonia and Granbury, Texas
He is a current member of TMEA (Texas Music Educators Association), ATSSB (Association of Texas Small School Bands), Texas Band Master's Association and The Texas Music Adjudicators Association. Mr. Beeson fequently clinics and judges bands throughout the state.
During 2017-2018, the Bosqueville Band Program earned straight 1's at the UIL Region Marching Contest and advanced to the Area contest for the first time in 28 years. They placed ninth with only 25 students on the field. The “Pride” also earned a first division at the UIL Concert and Sight reading contest. This achievement earned them the first Sweepstakes or “A” trophy in school history. To earn an “A” trophy a band must earn a first division in marching, concert and sight reading. The Middle School band also made school history where they earned a first division trophy at UIL Concert and Sight reading Contest.
Mr. Beeson has been married to his beautiful wife, Nancy for 34 years. They have three children; Rocky, Tyler and Melinda. When not banding, Mr. Beeson enjoys gardening, sports and spending time with his family
