Borris Vocational School French Exchange Programme 2017
The Borris Vocational School French Exchange Programme is now in its third year. Seven French students ( Erwan Clement, Léa Chabane, Manon Olivier, Pauline Boulicaut, Lorya Urbano, Lucie Bento Fonela and Mathilde Leroy) and their teacher, Marie Pierre Bechard, arrived in Ireland at the end of January.
The students attend Lycée Helene Boucher ( a secondary school), located in the centre of Toulouse, in the South West of France. After a day in Dublin city centre, visiting Trinity College, the National Gallery and Dublin Castle, the group were welcomed to Ireland by their Borris exchange partners and families. They then travelled home together for the weekend.
They spent the week in the school, shadowing their Borris exchange partners (Maeve Fortune, Aoife Hill, Shannen Cowman Kehoe, Grainne Harris, Alanah Hayden, Hannah Rapley and Cathal Nolan). They experienced the Irish school system and what daily life is like for a student in Borris Vocational School.
This Language Exchange Programme has been a success right from the beginning - allowing students the opportunity to experience a new country and culture and most importantly, to put into practise the language skills that they have been studying in school, for the last four years. The BVS students will make a return visit to their French exchange partners in April.
